Kenya’s Harambee Stars suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Estonia in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regular and extra time.

Kenya created several clear-cut chances but failed to convert. Striker Michael Olunga hit the post twice in the second half, while midfielder Richard Odada saw a free kick tipped onto the crossbar.

In the shootout, Kenya’s third and fourth penalty takers saw their efforts saved, sealing a 4-2 defeat from the spot.

“We dominated large parts of the game and created enough chances to win comfortably. We must be more clinical in front of goal,” Head coach Engin Firat said. The result adds pressure ahead of World Cup qualifying.
